From a young age Rich Kauffman had two passions, film and sports. Rich pursued a career in film by attending the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. After graduating with a degree in Television, Radio & Film, Rich discovered a career trajectory that would allow him to combine his love of film and sports, game presentation.
Rich spent two season working in Minor League Baseball, first with the Binghamton Mets and then the West Virginia Power. In that time, he honed his skills as a videographer, editor and animator while developing a new talent in live production.
In September of 2011, Rich joined Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls as a Producer/Editor. In that role, he was responsible for designing and creating matchday elements, including videos and animations, as well as assisting with the live production of matches. In 2017, Rich was promoted to Senior Manager of Game Presentation.
As Senior Manager of Game Presentation, Rich was a valued member of the marketing department. He was responsible for the production of Red Bulls Report, a monthly 30 minute program on MSG Network, created commercials for both TV and social media, developed multiple content series, managed the video requests for the entire organization, and oversaw live broadcasts. Rich was also charged with all in-venue video assets and animations while instituting new match elements including in-game pyrotechnics and adding a host.
